Not long after being linked to the international superstar, Yvonne started to put on weight and then the talks shifted to “oh Adebayor has impregnated Yvonne Okoro…they are about to get married.”

This juicy speculation has continued for several months but has recently become an issue again.

In a rather touching interview, Yvonne almost broke down in tears when NEWS-ONE pushed an audio recorder in her face and asked her to explain the Adebayor connection, including the alleged pregnancy.

“Yes I have put on weight but I don’t think am pregnant. I am not pregnant. I don’t know why people come out with such lies,” Yvonne said, sounding downhearted.

“At first, I thought it was just a joke. My friends in the United State of America, UK and other countries called to ask me about it.

I told them to stop joking because I heard similar rumours in the media some months back about Yvonne Nelson. Now it is me. They must be joking.”

“It is so so so not true. I am not pregnant. I guess when you see a pregnant woman, you will notice it. I don’t know how long that rumour has been going round but I’m not pregnant.

I know Adebayor but he is just a friend. He is not my man. I’m repeating, he is not my man.”

Yvonne sounded as though the rumours were spoiling something good in her love life. But she would not go there and NEWS-ONE pushed further.

“I like to keep that a secret or probably say no comment. It is up to you to find out whether I’m dating or not.

I don’t want to be the one telling you those things about me.

You guys think we don’t have private lives, but we also have the right to think they way we want to think. So I reserve that right,” Yvonne added.

The beautiful actress has been in the news in recent times for various reasons. But the juicy one which got public attention was her outfit at the last African Movie Academy Awards.

The dress gave a broader view of her boobs which got many, especially African men, talking.

Yvonne is described as an award-winning actress. She is a pretty-faced lady of Ghanaian and Nigeria descent.

She is co-winner of the Best Actress award at the 2010 Ghana Movie awards. Two years in a row, she was nominated for the Best Actress in Leading Role and Best Actress in Supporting Role slots at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAAs).

She had her basic education at Achimota Preparatory School and then at Lincoln Community School before moving to Faith Montessori.

She had her secondary education at Mfanstiman Girls Senior High School.

Yvonne has come a long way and contributed to the African movie industry.

This year’s show is scheduled for June 30 at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre.

On Wednesday, the show was launched at the Golden Tulip Hotel with guests including president of Empire Entertainment, Bola Ray, popular actress Yvonne Nelson, publisher of Ovation Magazine chief Dele Momodu and Fashion 101 host Sandra Ankobia.

Provisional list of artistes to perform announced at the launching ceremony included Nigeria’s MI, Brymo, and Nigeria’s music latest sensation Davido, who has built a large fanbase with his single ‘Dami Duro’ and sassy Tiwa Savage from Don Jazzy’s Mavin Record.

From Ghana would be 4×4, sensational female dancehall songstress Kaakie, R2bees, Guru, Buk Bak, Kwaw Kese, Keche, and a long list of other artistes which would be made public soon.

Davido, Brymo, Kwaw Kese, Guru, and Buk Bak, at the launch told music fans to warm up for a thrilling night.

Empire Entertainment boss Bola Ray told journalists that this year’s event was going to be an entertainment package. He also congratulated the media and sponsors for believing in Empire Entertainment and supporting the show.

Last year’s Ghana Meet Naija concert was described as unprecedented. It had more patronage than any event on the entertainment calendar last year.

On stage at that event were VIP, 2face, J-Martins, 9ice, Sarkodie, 4×4, Ruff n Smooth, Guru and a host of others. A number of last year’s performers are missing on the list.

But the current list is provisional and it is likely some other artistes will be added to it.

This year’s edition is being sponsored by MTN with support from rLG, MOET & CHANDON, Henessey, and PHC Motors.

In July and October, Ghana Meets Naija concert will be organized in UK and Nigeria respectively.

After helping himself to one too many drinks, the Kenyan Starmate staggered into the kitchen and hurled all sorts of abuse at DKB.

Prezzo blamed DKB for causing the rift that persists between he and his “lady”, Goldie.

He is making a comeback on the silver-screens with a topnotch role alongside popular actresses Yvonne Nelson and Nadia Buari in a new movie titled, ‘Single & Married’.

He finished shooting on Monday and indications were that he was jetting out of the country that evening.

Efforts to get him to comment on Wednesday proved futile when he told NEWS-ONE, “rumours are rumours, and people should keep talking.”

He refused to answer further questions put to him. Amanda would also not talk about the rumours.

Controversial Ghanaian Pidgin English rapper, Wanlov the Kubolor will take over the hot seat on XFM 95.1 today, Wednesday May 16, 2012, as host of the morning show; ‘The Big Bite’.

Kubolor stirred national controversy when he exposed his manhood to TV Cameras.

He has subsequently released a single, ‘Coti’, to obviously highlight his stance on the national condemnation he came under.

Hailed as one of the most refreshing and original artistes of the times, Kubolor will talk about “anything that comes to mind”.

Kubolor has won many awards and nominations such as WCS International Song Contest (World) - for the song title ‘Human Being’ (2006); International Songwriting Competition (World) – finalist- ‘Never Die’ (2006);

D’Banj and Yvonne Nelson

Nigeria’s Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’Banj, was on Sunday evening spotted on a movie set at a plush Ghanaian neighbourhood called Dzorwulu in Accra.

The award-winning international musician was also on Saturday evening seen at the plush XL nightclub in Accra where he attended the launching of Soundcity Ghana, terrestrial TV channel from Nigeria, as a special guest.

He visited Media GH’s movie set which had popular Ghanaian stars as Yvonne Nelson, Chris Attoh, Nadia Buari, Efya Tiffany, and Anita Erskine.

NEWS-ONE earlier on reported that the movie had a more interesting cast list to unveil in subsequent weeks.

It is unclear if D’Banj is on the cast list.

Inside sources said he was on the set for about an hour. His presence brought a lot of excitement and crew members took advantage to take photos with the man who is now described as an international superstar.

NEWS-ONE managed to get exclusive snapshots of him with A-list actresses Yvonne Nelson and Nadia Buari.

The paper’s source said he chatted with presenter cum actor Chris Attoh for a while before he left the set that evening. He was also seen talking to director Pascal Amanfo.

Yvonne Nelson is acting with ladies’ man Chris Attoh and a host of others for the first time in the movie. Anita Erskine and songstresses Efya and Tiffany are also acting for the first time.

Further reports said Chris Attoh had a good chemistry with Efya and the two were in some sizzling kissing scenes which amazed director Pascal Amanfo.
